BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A 51-year-old pre-kindergarten teacher was arrested after authorities determined she pointed a handgun at another motorist during a road-rage dispute last week.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reported that Latashia Deshawn County, an educator at Essence Public School, was taken into custody following the encounter, which occurred on May 20 in the 6300 block of FM 78.
According to sheriff’s deputies, the victim stated that a woman pointed a firearm at her after the two individuals engaged in a verbal altercation. Investigators subsequently identified County as the suspect.
Deputies later recovered a firearm from the scene that matched the physical description provided by the victim. Investigators stated that County admitted to displaying the weapon during the course of the confrontation.
County was transported to the Bexar County Jail, where she was booked on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
