CANYON, Texas — An employee of the Canyon Independent School District was arrested on a driving under the influence charge over the weekend, according to local authorities.

The Canyon Police Department confirmed that Raymond Angel Baca, a coach within the school district, was taken into custody on May 23. He faces a criminal charge of Driving While Intoxicated.

The incident began when Canyon police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling in the 3500 block of 4th Avenue. Law enforcement officials stated the vehicle was pulled over after the driver failed to maintain a single lane of traffic.
