Former School District Employee Arrested for Alleged Mileage Reimbursement Fraud in North Carolina

MONROE, North Carolina — Investigators with the Union County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a former Union County Public Schools employee for allegedly submitting fraudulent mileage reimbursement requests.

Authorities arrested 38-year-old Kathryn Lynn Earp, a resident of Ridge Road in Monroe, following an official investigation into the allegedly falsified travel claims. The details of the arrest were shared by the law enforcement agency in a post on the official Union County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

According to the information provided by the sheriff’s office, Earp is no longer employed by the local school district. However, the school district’s online staff directory continues to list her position as a compliance coordinator for Section 504 programs within the exceptional children department.
