MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — A former Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office deputy is in custody after allegedly accessing restricted law enforcement databases for personal reasons.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced that Louis Norman was arrested on Friday. The arrest followed a joint investigation conducted by the sheriff’s office Major Crimes Unit and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Public Integrity Unit. The official inquiry began after the Precinct 3 Constable’s Office received a formal complaint from a former girlfriend of Norman and transferred the matter to county investigators.
Detectives allege that Norman searched for sensitive records within both the National Crime Information Center and the Texas Crime Information Center systems without any connection to legitimate law enforcement duties. Texas officials noted that the unauthorized use of these restricted databases constitutes a third-degree felony.
Following the investigation, Norman was terminated from his position at the constable’s office. He is currently being detained at the Montgomery County Jail. Law enforcement authorities stated that the case remains active and additional information has not been made public.
