WAYNE COUNTY, Ohio — A retired employee of an Ohio Christian school was taken into custody on Saturday under a fugitive warrant linked to a criminal child enticement charge, according to law enforcement records.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Hendrick Beun, 71. Records show that Beun faces charges of criminal child enticement and being a fugitive from justice.
Official documentation indicates that the criminal child enticement charge stems from an out-of-state warrant, carrying a designation as a hold for Idaho.
Central Christian School, located in Kidron, confirmed on Monday that Beun previously worked at the institution. Superintendent Nathan Holton stated that the school recently learned about misconduct allegations involving the former employee, who retired more than four years ago.
School officials emphasized that the situation does not involve Central Christian School, its current personnel, or its students. The administration declined to provide specific details regarding Beun’s employment history, citing institutional policy, and directed further inquiries to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.
The investigation remains active, and local authorities have not yet released additional details surrounding the specific circumstances of the arrest.
