ST. LOUIS, Missouri — A local firefighter faces multiple felony charges after being accused of committing sexual crimes against a child, according to court documents.
Chaz Brewer, 36, has been charged with two counts of statutory sodomy involving a victim under the age of 12. Brewer is employed as a private with the Northeast Fire Protection District.
Legal records indicate that the alleged abuse occurred while Brewer was in a relationship with the victim’s mother. The investigation began in 2021 when the child disclosed to a family member that Brewer had touched her inappropriately.
Following the disclosure, the Children’s Division was notified and conducted an interview with the child. During the interview, the victim stated that Brewer touched her when she was 7 years old and threatened to physical assault her if she revealed the abuse. The Children’s Division subsequently contacted law enforcement, and the child provided a consistent account during a second interview.
During a Mirandized interview with authorities, Brewer acknowledged that he had lived with the mother and the child for a period of time.
Brewer is currently being held at the St. Louis City Justice Center without bond.“`
