Texas Special Education Teacher Arrested Following Allegations of Out of State Fraud Schemes

AZLE, Texas — A Texas elementary school teacher has been taken into police custody on multiple felony warrants stemming from an extensive financial fraud investigation coordinated across state lines, local officials announced.

Law enforcement officers arrested 41-year-old Jennifer Lynn Myers on Wednesday afternoon. Myers, a resident of Azle, Texas, faces active criminal charges including felony grand larceny and multiple counts of identity theft issued by prosecutors in an outside jurisdiction.

Records indicate that Myers had been employed as a specialized educator within the Azle Independent School District, where she worked with special education students. District administrators confirmed she was immediately placed on administrative suspension following notification of her arrest.

The ongoing multi-agency investigation revealed that Myers allegedly used stolen personal identification information to orchestrate multiple fraudulent financial schemes targeting businesses and individuals located out of state. Detectives reported that the financial losses resulting from the unauthorized transactions are estimated to exceed several thousands of dollars.

Following her apprehension, Myers was transported to the Tarrant County Detention Center. She remains held in local custody without bond while awaiting formal extradition proceedings to the issuing state to face the pending felony charges.
