Maricopa County Sheriff Detention Deputy Arrested on Child Sex Trafficking Suspicion in Chandler

CHANDLER, Arizona — A Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office detention deputy was taken into custody Thursday in Chandler following an investigation into alleged child sex trafficking, authorities announced.

Emmanuel Reyes-Carreon was apprehended by Chandler police detectives after investigators gathered sufficient evidence to make an arrest. Law enforcement officials have disclosed very few specific details regarding the active criminal case.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Reyes-Carreon is a recent employee who graduated from the agency’s detention academy in April 2026. Following his graduation, he was assigned to duties at the Lower Buckeye Jail. In light of the arrest, the sheriff’s office has placed Reyes-Carreon on paid administrative leave while the investigation proceeds.
