Kentucky Police Officer Facing Theft and Misconduct Charges Resigns From Louisville Department

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — A Louisville Metro Police officer facing criminal charges for allegedly misreporting his working hours is departing from the law enforcement agency.

Roberto Grider was arraigned earlier this week on charges of theft by deception and official misconduct.

According to investigators, the criminal case originated from discrepancies regarding the hours Grider reported working between October 2025 and February 2026. Following the discovery of the reporting issues, the Louisville Metro Police Department initiated formal proceedings to terminate his employment. Grider has since submitted the necessary paperwork to transition into retirement instead.

Grider is legally scheduled to make his next appearance in court this coming July.
