WILSON, North Carolina — A campus police officer for WakeMed hospital was arrested on Friday after investigators alleged that he kidnapped and assaulted a woman, according to law enforcement records.

Arrest warrants show that 39-year-old Jeremy Lee Bohne, a resident of Wilson, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges. The specific counts include second-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, assault by pointing a gun, interfering with emergency communication, two counts of assault on a female, and two counts of misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.

According to official court documents, the alleged offenses occurred over a multi-day span between May 27 and May 29.

The records indicate that Bohne unlawfully confined, restrained, and moved the victim without her consent with the intent to terrorize her. The warrants further allege that Bohne grabbed the woman by her arm and collar, pointed a long rifle at her, and used a box cutter to cut through her clothing.

Investigators also noted in the warrants that Bohne took the woman’s cellphone to prevent her from contacting 911 following the alleged physical altercation. In a separate instance detailed by officials, Bohne allegedly attempted to pull the victim back into a residence, which caused her to fall to the ground.

Hospital administrators at WakeMed confirmed that Bohne was employed as a campus police officer and announced his immediate suspension following the arrest.

A spokesperson for the medical system stated that Bohne has been suspended from employment as a WakeMed Campus Police officer while the organization conducts a thorough internal review and cooperates fully with external investigations. The spokesperson added that his suspension took effect immediately upon his arrest.

Bohne is legally scheduled to make his initial court appearance on June 1 in Wilson County.
