MIAMI, Florida — A science teacher at a South Florida high school was arrested Monday on charges stemming from a sexual relationship he allegedly carried on with a minor student, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office announced.
The suspect, Michael Enriquez, 53, is listed as a science teacher at American Senior High School on the school’s website.
According to investigators, Enriquez initiated contact with a 17-year-old female student last year, and those conversations eventually led to sexual activity. Authorities said the relationship continued until May 2026, by which point the student had turned 18.
Enriquez is charged with unlawful sexual activity with a specified minor, lewd and lascivious touching, and offenses against students by authority figures.
