WATSON, Louisiana — A teacher and assistant football coach at Live Oak High School has been arrested by Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputies following allegations of wrongful conduct involving a student, authorities announced.
Stepfan Henderson, 34, was taken into custody on May 25 and faces charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile and molestation of a juvenile. Henderson is currently being held at the Livingston Parish Jail with bond set at $350,000.
Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard stated that Henderson initially denied the allegations and denied having contact with the student during an interview with investigators. However, detectives were able to disprove his statements through electronic surveillance uncovered during the investigation.
The Livingston Parish Public School System had previously placed Henderson on administrative leave on April 16 after a report was filed with the high school’s administrative office. School administrators immediately notified the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office to request a formal investigation and contacted the school district’s Human Resources department to initiate standard policy procedures.
Henderson was in his second year of employment with the school district, where he taught Business English and Technical Writing in addition to his role as an assistant football coach. School district officials confirmed that Henderson’s employment contract was scheduled to conclude on the final day of the 2025-26 school year and that his contract has not been renewed.
